Yesterday my daughter-in-law and I had the pleasure of visiting Laurel, the small Mississippi town that is featured in the HGTV show, Home Town. It has only a population of 18,000 people but it is jam packed full of fun things. First of all, it has an amazing history...check this out! <a href="http://www.jonathanodell.net/laurel-mississippi-city-in-a-bubble.html" target="_blank">City in a Bubble</a>. I was really amazed with the story of this small Mississippi town.<br />
<br />
We live about 2 1/2 hours north and by the time we arrived, we were starving! First stop? <a href="https://www.facebook.com/eatatpearls/" target="_blank">Miss Pearl's Diner</a> This is a new place, only open for a couple of months but boy is it good! Ben and Erin found a house for Miss Pearl and renovated it...it was a great redo! Back to the food....YUMMY! The fried chicken was awesome and the sides were even better!<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Z_b9Z3OKspU/Ws-xnYbfP1I/AAAAAAAAEpY/Ny6TE24gxxE371x6t-ADtzDUPVert9BnwCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_2476.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Z_b9Z3OKspU/Ws-xnYbfP1I/AAAAAAAAEpY/Ny6TE24gxxE371x6t-ADtzDUPVert9BnwCLcBGAs/s320/IMG_2476.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">A view of Miss Pearl's from our booth!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
The diner had been a jewelry store that had set vacant for a long time and so was a welcome addition to the downtown area! Miss Pearl was not there while we were but we did get to meet her son(sorry I forgot to take a photo.) and he told us about his Mama and her new house. After eating, we drove by her house and it sure was pretty!<br />
<br />
We then went to the<a href="https://www.laurelmercantile.com/" target="_blank"> Laurel Mercantile</a> which is a store owned by Ben and Erin and relatives and friends. We did get meet Mallorie who is one of Erin's best friends and who is featured on the show when she helps Erin shop and decorate the renovated houses.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Mallorie</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Everyone in the shop was so friendly and helpful. I bought some yummy lemon soap and a wonder Sweet Olive candle! The best part was that my daughter-in-law bought me a print of a painting that Erin had done for my Mother's Day gift!!!! I fell in love with it the first time I saw it in the on-line store!!<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Blue Vases Print</td></tr>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We then went outside and took pictures(which was a good thing since I kept forgetting to get my camera out!!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
First off we visited the amazing Lauren Rogers Museum....it was unbelievable especially since it is located in such a small Mississippi town!</div>

The girls all had a fun time and were really happy to be going home with their own wand box and wand, broom, invitation and list of needed things for school, and a Wizardry Diploma. All in all a most fun and memorable day!Suehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04740722544710867368noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1503100639330136880.post-61991567685618728892016-10-20T21:05:00.000-04:002016-10-20T21:05:15.612-04:00GREAT NEWS X THREE!!!!!!What a great week it has been! The house closed on Monday, I got an apartment on Thursday and on Saturday if all goes well, I will be the owner of a new Hyundai Accent! We were really lucky because the second person who saw the house, bought it! There were a few glitches along the way but all's well that ends well! I was getting a bit worried about finding a place to live since this is a college town and most of the apartments are geared to students but fortunately my daughter-in-law found a great place. 2 bedroom, 1 bath with a patio area that is enclosed, loads of closets and close to everything! It has a washer-dryer hook-up which for me was a must. The biggest plus is that with the second bedroom, I will finally have a dedicated sewing room. I can't wait to set it up...just think, if I am in the middle of something, I can close a door and hide the mess,....not that I am ever messy! We have everything ready to buy the car after a test drive. I have never owned a new car so this will be a lot of fun(and learning all the gadgets that will be new to me! So wish me luck) ;<br />
<br />
I'm not sure how much sewing I will be doing in the next couple of weeks since I will be moving in and setting up. I have a lot of shopping to do because I only brought the bare necessities from Florida and then have to find a cable company, etc. But I have a bit to show this week and will save a bit for later, you know, spread the joy!<br />
<br />
First up is the finished quilt that I showed you a couple of weeks ago. I found some adorable dotted fabric for the backing and added a cute little whale applique to make the back happy! Not sure exactly where this quilt will end up but I hope it adds happiness to someone's life.<br />

HAIL STATE!!!!!!Since I have moved from Sarasota, FL(Hopefully everyone is safe from Matthew!) to Starkville, Mississippi I have become a Bulldogs fan(still a Gator at heart though!...just don't spread it around!). My son's house is right next to the MSU campus so many of the football fans come by his driveway to and from the game! My grandchildren have set up a lemonade stand and boy are folks happy to see them after their long, hot walk back to their cars!<br />

This week we are going to add some handmade MSU gadgets to hopefully raise money for the local elementary schools. I figured that everyone needs key fobs and what is better than one that shows school spirit? I used the tutorial done by Jaime and Jacinda at<a href="http://www.prettyprudent.com/2010/11/hot-mess/accessories-hot-mess/how-to-make-a-wristlet-key-fob-2/" target="_blank"> Pretty Prudent</a>.<br />

I also made <a href="http://emmalinebags.blogspot.ca/2016/08/how-to-make-key-fob-lip-balm-holder.html" target="_blank">Key Fob Lip Balm Holders from Emmaline Bags</a>! These were easy and fun to make. I did have to plan ahead a bit to center the Bulldog but after doing it once, it was really easy. This sure helps keep the lip balm where one can get to it!<br />

<br />Since I am not busy making making foxes at the moment, I had to find something new to sew and I did! I found these cute lunch bags on <a href="https://www.purlsoho.com/create/2014/09/14/button-lunch-bags/" target="_blank">Purl Soho</a>. Of course, I couldn't leave them plain so out came my appliqued alphabets! I made one for my granddaughter and one for her friend. These were really fun to make...sure an upgrade from the old brown bags we used to take our lunches in!<br />

Final project of the week and this is a WIP...I had to order the fabric for the backing but I think I found the perfect design! I saw this pattern on <a href="http://lovelaughquilt.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Love, Laugh and Quilt</a> and had to copy her pattern. Her's is so pretty and soft and "pastel-y"...is that a word? Because of the charms and other fabric I had available(remember most of my material is in storage) mine turned out quite bold and bright.<br />

I found this great pattern at <a href="http://www.stitchedbycrystal.com/2014/01/free-stuffed-fox-pattern.html" target="_blank">Stitched by Crystal</a>. He is just a simple toy to make but each one has a personality of his own. I added mouths to them and of course, the girl fox has eyelashes. I stayed with the color scheme of orange and gray.<br />

I have made two so far but am planning more to donate to the schools for prizes.<br />

Now for the flower of the week. Almost everyday, Maddie brings me a flower to keep by my sewing machine! Here is one of my favorites, the Spider Lily. I really don't like spiders but the flower is really neat so I like spiders as long as they are flowers...not the arachnids!<br />

Oh, My!This has been a really fun week! I finished two quilts for my "foxy" baby gifts. The first one was made with a Mama and Me charm pack. I added a fox applique on front. I could not find an applique that I really loved but did find a picture so my very talented daughter-in-law drew one for me! Isn't he adorable? For the backing I ran across an out of print fabric called Nordic Fox. It was a perfect match for the charms! I added a black binding that had red, gray, blue and white dots! Fun, fun, fun!<br />
<br />

I was having so much fun with the little charm quilts that I found some green and white dotted charms that I have had forever! Sewed them together and added a fish to the front. I used some of my favorite (and now almost depleted navy and green fabric) for the back and decided to add another applique...this time a turtle! I got my idea for adding the appliques from <a href="http://auntpollysporch.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Aunt Polly's Porch</a>. You have to check out her wonderful quilts for her grandson along with the "grand room" she has designed for him! And be sure to watch out for Yogi! He is adorable.<br />

Were you lucky enough to get a free Craftsy class from Joann's? I was and I chose Sew Sturdy: Home Organizers by Annie Unrein. I made it for my granddaughter, Maddie in her favorite colors of purple and green.</div>

I really didn't get much sewing done because of my drippy nose and constant sneezing! I finally got things going by the weekend and I finished up my QAYG coin quilt! I am so glad that I made a second one with orange and gray..I really think it is striking and fun at the same time. I made a quilt label with a fox applique because I found out the mother-to-be is going to be using foxes in her decor of the nursery. I think he turned out really cute!(If you can't read the lettering it says: JAS IV...yep this baby is the fourth with these initials) I got my granddaughter to hold the quilt for me. Thank you Maddie!.<br />

I decided that the baby will need a stuffed fox or two and here is the first one I have made. I have a couple more planned...this will be a really "foxy" baby! It is a pattern from <a href="http://www.mariskavos.nl/" target="_blank">DIY Fluffies</a>. They are not really easy because of their small size so I enlarged the pattern to 120% and I think I will try him at 110% next. One thing about the regular size is that it can be cut out of scraps of fabric but you do have to be patient while sewing him! ( I know it sounds weird but I am in love with his tail!)<br />

My last project this week was finishing up the cloth napkins I started a couple of weeks ago. Remember when I made the cord covers and my daughter-in-law thought they were napkin holders? Well, they do work really well for that purpose also! I love lime and navy so that is what I made. My grandson decided they were all right because I made a boy's side and a girl's side. He thought the flowery side was too "girly" but the circles were just right!<br />

I am waiting for some fabric to arrive so I can start a couple more projects. I thought I wouldn't be buying much fabric because I don't live less than a mile from Joann's anymore but the internet makes ordering things way too easy!<br />
<br />
And for a final happy thought! The house is under contract. It happened the third day it was on the market. So please cross your fingers that everything goes swimmingly( probably shouldn't have used that term since most everything was underwater last week because of Hermine!) My house is fortunately in a good high location.<br />

Of course, we don't know how long I will be here...all depends on the sale of the house. It is finally ready to show after a few Property Brothers fixes! We had the whole interior painted, new carpeting in the back half of the house and a deep clean inside. We also had some landscaping down to clean up the look a bit and now it is listing time. Crossing my fingers for a quick sale!<br />
<br />
I finished my QAYG coin quilt but guess what? It isn't going to be a gift for my friend's daughter anymore! Why you ask? We "chatted" on Facebook the other day and I now know the rest of her color scheme! She is using touches of orange with foxes so I decided the red binding might not be such a good idea. I ordered some orange fabric for the binding and I found the perfect gray for the sashing so I am starting all over again. I will find something else to do with the first quilt. I really like how it turned out and it is a really quick and easy pattern. <a href="http://www.connectingthreads.com/patterns/Quilt-As-You-Go_Coins_Free_Quilt_Pattern_Download__D991465.html" target="_blank">Connecting Threads QAYG Coin quilt.</a><br />

I then found a cute pouch pattern at <a href="http://static.fatquartershop.com/media/wysiwyg/pdf/SingleScoopPouch-Template.pdf" target="_blank">Fat Quarter Shop</a> called Single Scoop Pouch. I had just gotten some of Cotton and Steel fabric that I thought would be perfect! Then I found another quick and easy(and useful) project at <a href="http://www.sew4home.com/projects/fabric-art-accents/scrapbusters-cord-wraps-two-sizes" target="_blank">Sew4Home!</a> It is a scrap buster to boot, who could ask for anything more? These went really quick and were so easy to make. My 6 year old grandson knew what they were used for right away! They are cord wraps His mother wasn't sure and took a guess and I love what she came up with...another perfect use for them! Napkin rings(to go with the napkins I am making for her!) Here is a collage of the ones I made this evening...actually there is one more I made but it is holding my sewing machine cords neatly!<br />

I had so much fun sewing this week and actually accomplished quite a bit. Now I will start on the baby quilt plus a few little surprises I am going to add to it! Come back and check out what I have come up with!<br />
<br />
I almost forgot! I have been watching my daughter-in-law's beautiful rose garden and had my eye on one particular pinkish rose. Tonight my granddaughter brought it to me for my sewing area. I love this since I have a "black" thumb and can't grow anything but dust bunnies! Isn't it gorgeous?<br />

My son and family arrived in Sarasota on the 25th of July and then the fun began! For the last few months I had begun going through things and packing and throwing away....not fun after 18 years at this house! It was really hard getting rid of lots of my "stuff" but it had to be done. My son is relentless in the "throw away mode" but so organized and fast that things really went better after he started helping. We had yard sales for two weekends and got rid of lots of "stuff"...so much stuff that I made a bit over $500! It was interesting to see what people buy and what they don't! What didn't get sold or given to friends and neighbors went to Goodwill...many, many trips! We also got to know our garbage men quite well! They were amazing. We turned the keys over to the Real Estate agents, and we pulled out of Sarasota around 12:30 PM on Monday the 8th. It was a long 16 hours to Starkville, MS through much rain and many accident slowdowns. Once my son gets going, he drives straight through....boy was I tired when we arrived at his house. I'm staying with them until the house sells so I have my own room where I have set up a sewing area. I really haven't had much time to do much sewing but I have done a bit.<br />
<br />
First off I am making a baby quilt for a friend's daughter who is having a baby in December. I am working on it now since I don't know what my schedule will be like. It is a Quilt As You Go Coin quilt. I have finished all of the coin rows and they are neatly pressed and ready to start the QAYG process.<br />
<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: left;">I am using Connecting Threads' Lotta' Dots with a Light Stone Lotta' Dots backing to go with the gray walls the nursery has been painted.</td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Since I really like this quilt, I looked at the fabric that I have with me and found a layer cake that I won sometime ago! I cut the 10" blocks into 4 charms each and then cut them in half to make a huge pile of coins. I can work on the strips in free time and be ready to make a couple of quilts when I finally get settled.<br />
<br />

One other project I have started is making cloth napkins. My daughter-in-law really likes be environmentally conscious so I hunted through my fabric that I have with me, and have made two practice napkins and have found some more to make a set of 6. This is really a easy thing and helpful keeping so much paper from landfills. I found a really fun pattern at <a href="http://chocolateandzucchini.com/recipes/other-recipes/homemade-diy-cloth-napkins-recipe/" target="_blank">Chocolate and Zucchini</a> that has two sided napkins. Here are photos of the two sides.<br />

<span style="color: red;">Chantal </span>of <a href="http://atthecornerofscrapandquilts.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">At the Corner of Scrap and Quilts</a>!!! Here is what she had to say: <br />
<br />
I love your bags. So wonderfully colourful! I too love navy and lime
together. I do shy away from bold fabric though. I don't know why since I
always appreciate it when others use such fabrics in their projects. <br />
I
use to put all my binding leftovers in the bin for string blocks. I saw
a quilt made with such leftover bindings strings and now, I'm thinking I
can do that too. Fabric that are old or "what was I thinking when I
bought that" kind of fabric go for the backing of placemats. I also try
to "hide" little pieces of them in my Rainbow Scrap Challenge quilt,
whenever I can. Thank you for the chance to win. Glad to hear you are
feeling better!<br />

I started feeling "poorly" on Tuesday evening and by Wednesday morning I decided staying in bed was the answer. Didn't start to feel human until Saturday, thus no post!<br />
<br />
Anyway, last week I uncovered a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bEJLnaZQOU" target="_blank">jellyroll quilt race</a> quilt that I had made sometime in the past! I had some jellyrolls that I got at Tuesday Morning. Since they were blue and green strips, I could not pass them by because those are my favorite colors!!! BUT I also knew that I would never quilt it...please don't ask why I made it other than the challenge of the jellyroll race!! I had even put sashing on the quilt...don't know what I was thinking. OK, now what can I do with a quilt top that I know I will never finish? Cut it up and use it for other things. First thing up was a couple of totes. Just simple totes for the grocery store or the library.<br />
<br />

As you can see, every clutch and tote is different because of the layout of the jellyroll race quilt. I was going to make several other projects but the nasty flu decided differently. I have plans for some placemats and maybe a bathmat like <a href="http://crazymomquilts.blogspot.com/2016/06/patchwork-chenille-rug.html" target="_blank">Crazy Mom Quilts</a> made. Who knows what else I will come up with...I have a lot of quilt left to cut up!<br />
<br />
Now for the <i><b><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="color: red;">GIVEAWAY</span></span></b></i>! I cannot believe how much fabric I have stashed away but there is lots and I keep finding more! I have two friends who are getting a lot of what I am disposing of but I still have soooooo much more. The other day I saw a really neat patchwork piece used in a tote and I thought...that is a great thing to do when I have "down time" to sew a bit while resting from packing up the house.<br />
<br />
I had just discovered how many mini charm packs(and a few charm packs) I have. Some I bought for who knows what and several were prizes that I won that I haven't used for anything yet. I sewed some of them into different sized patchwork pieces and will use them when I make totes and clutches. Nothing is better than already having the patchwork done!! Here are few of the blocks.<br />

Since I still have loads of mini's left, I decided to have a giveaway! I will be drawing 4 names to win 4 mini charms packs each.( 2 sets of 3 <i><b>Potluck</b></i> and 2 sets of 3 <i><b>From Outside In</b></i>. (the first two blocks above used these two mini charms) To win these, all you need to do is post a comment about where you would like to live if you could live anywhere in the world!(and why if you would like to tell)<span style="background-color: red;"><b></b></span> <span style="color: red;"><b>I am asking that you please put your email address in your post so that I have a way to get in touch with you</b></span>. I hate to draw a name and then not have anyway to notify you that you won.<b> </b>The giveaway will run until <u><b>midnight June 23</b></u>.<br />
<br />
Keep watching my blog because I have several more giveaways planned in the next few weeks. One will be a flat rate envelope filled with "scraps" but large things...fat quarters, charms, etc. and who knows what else. So keep an eye out for these giveaways.Suehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04740722544710867368noreply@blogger.com65tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1503100639330136880.post-29671346588222528362016-06-03T18:42:00.001-04:002016-06-03T18:46:02.069-04:00Just a Little Stitching!Not too much sewing going on this week. I have been packing and sorting fabric getting ready for my move to Mississippi. I found some long forgotten fabric that I just had to use to make a few clutches. When I saw <a href="http://fabricmutt.blogspot.com/2016/05/spectrum-clutch-tutorial.html" target="_blank">Fabric Mutt's Spectrum Clutch</a>, I really had to try it! BUT I didn't do the 12 strips she did...I used one solid piece of fabric that I had saved for something special! It is called Postcards from I Dream of Paris for Windham Fabrics. I had some tan linen that I used for the "frame" and back of the clutch. For the lining, I used fabric from Joann's called Gravel Tan...looks like a sandy beach! I added a leather strip to the zipper pull to finish the clutch off.<br />

I also decided to use some leftover Matrioshka dolls fabric with denim for the main part of a second clutch. It was a fun, quick sew which is all I have time for right now! I really like both clutches but <br />
I can't wait to make one of Heidi's with the 12 strips...that looks so great!<br />

I'm not sure how much sewing I will get done in the weeks coming up but if I get the "itch" to sew, I will have several different small items to stitch up because as I am packing, I am still making up "grab and stitch" ziplocks as I get ready for the big move. Hope you have a great week.<br />

I found some really bright and cheery plaid for my granddaughter's tote. I had some whale fabric for my grandson's since he has a bathing suit and matching sun protection shirt with whales, what could be better?<br />

Yesterday I found some cute beach cottage fabric that I forgot I even had so I decided to make<a href="http://sotakhandmade.blogspot.com/p/my-patterns.html" target="_blank"> s.o.t.a.k handmade's Two in One Clutch</a>. I bought her pattern when she introduced it but I then took a hiatus from sewing and hadn't made it. What a mistake! It is a fun pattern and picking out the fabric is a lot of the fun! I couldn't stop at one...no, I made two large and two small clutches and could sit and make a lot more if I didn't have so many things to get done!</div>

I decided that teachers can always use a new tote so I used my Out Of Time tote pattern by<a href="http://www.dogundermydesk.com/store/patterns/" target="_blank"> Dog Under My Desk</a>. I ended up making four totes...now the kids have to decide which teacher gets which tote with one left over for good measure!<br />

After I finished these totes, I remembered my roommate's mother's 80th birthday was coming up. So another OOT tote. This time I went a little fancier and made it out of suede with an inset of a map on front. It really turned out nicely and she loved it!<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Suede and map insert</td></tr>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

When I finished all of these totes, I realized that I have made 8 OOT totes and I do not own one for myself! So I dug around in all of my stash and found some great denim and some flowery fabric and made one for me!!!! I used webbing for the handles, added some piping to the front and even covered a button to add a bit of pizazz to the front. I think it turned out well and I really can't wait to use it.<br />

On top of all the sewing, I have cut out 8 more totes for future projects and put them in ziplock bags. Everything is there, zippers, interfacing, etc so all I have to do is grab a bag when I want to sew. Hope your week was productive also!<br />

(See link at top right!) Why didn't I make it? Who knows but now that I have found it, I can't stop! I decided to make one for my daughter-in-law for the families' travels this coming summer. When I finished hers, I figured why not make one for each grandchild. I made the kids version 90% of the pattern.<br />
<br />
I found some black and yellow fabric that I bought a long time ago along with some cute little yellow birdie lining for my daughter-in-law's. I really like how it all came together. Bright and cheery for the summer.<br />
<br />

I next made my granddaughter a Paris backpack. Since I was using two fat quarters, I didn't have enough fabric to cut out the bottom piece so I found a gray checked fabric. I am really glad that I did because I think the Paris fabric would have shown lots of dirt on the bottom.<br />

If you want a fun pattern to make, try this one! Erin's patterns are the best. She has such clear dirctions along with great pictures. blocks for a while so I decided that I was ready to sew a tote or two!<br />
<br />
I
have wanted to make the Take Off Tote(for me) by Erin Gilbey of<a href="http://www.dogundermydesk.com/store/patterns/" target="_blank"> Dog Under My Desk</a> for a long time and I
finally did it!!!! I have had this fabric forever and I love how it
turned out. Instead of fabric straps, I used webbing. Also I used Stiff
Stuff for body.(<a href="http://www.lazygirldesigns.com/products/stiff-stuff" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">http://www.lazygirldesigns.com/products/stiff-stuff</a>).
For me, it is so much easier to use than Soft and Stable and gives the
bag wonderful body. This is a large tote perfect for a weekend trip. I think the best compliment that I have received for
this tote is from my roommate who thinks it looks like a Coach bag!
Since all the fabrics were remnants, this certainly didn't cost what a
Coach bag would!<br />

I next moved onto<a href="http://noodle-head.com/shop" target="_blank"> Noodlehead's Poolside</a> tote. I got this pattern when I was a member of the Bag of the Month Club in 2014 but I kept putting off making it! Boy, was that a mistake. This is such a great pattern and perfect for the beach. I made the first one on Sunday and I quickly made a second one on Monday. The first tote I made exactly like the pattern was written with only Pellon SF101. This leaves the bag quite soft and has the ability to be stuffed to the gills with needed items for the beach. For the second tote, I usedPellon® 987F Fusible Fleece to give it more stability. I had so much fun making these. I am now planning on making one 80% of the full size for my grandkids.<br />

First up is Topsy Turvy! This is a doll who has two heads....and no feet! Most stories I have read say that this doll goes back to the Civil War(or the War Between the States, depending on where you grew up!) Those dolls would have a black mammy on one end and an anti-bellum lady on the other, or some would have Little Eva and Topsy. . Modern day dolls are known to have cartoon characters such as Little Red Riding Hood on one side and the Big Bad Wolf on the other. Since I was just practicing, I made Blue Girl and Pink Lady for mine. Next I want to make one end sleeping and the other wide awake!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nVPc5511JGc/Vw-zbOFYo2I/AAAAAAAAClw/1QmneoPuozM_QkZHHkuAT4qwfusRffT7QCLcB/s1600/doll%2Band%2Bdoll%2Bclothes1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nVPc5511JGc/Vw-zbOFYo2I/AAAAAAAAClw/1QmneoPuozM_QkZHHkuAT4qwfusRffT7QCLcB/s320/doll%2Band%2Bdoll%2Bclothes1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Next on my agenda was to make my granddaughter's doll a cheerleader outfit. I made a reversible dress; maroon on one side and gray on the other. I still need to make some pompoms to go with the outfit!<br />

Wednesday, the new <a href="http://shop.shinyhappyworld.com/collections/dolls-doll-clothes?view=all" target="_blank">Dress Up Bunch</a> dress came out. Since it is spring, Wendi decided that the dolls all needed to do some gardening and she provided us with a cute dress, belt, apron and of course, a sun hat! I found the perfect gardening fabric and off I went! (Oh btw, the new doll has a name! She is Jessie named for the cowgirl in Toy Story!)<br />

I made a second doll for my granddaughter so that when her friends come over, they will have a doll to play with also. The second doll has dark hair and I made a load of clothes for the both the dolls.<br />

Today I made several outfits for the patriotic holidays! Who doesn't love red, white and blue?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-AnChrlwAwLI/VvXDjwIJldI/AAAAAAAACkM/tz7mtQAHhe87e7TS7anrUwMoeApCD8hJQ/s1600/IMG_1385-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="235" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-AnChrlwAwLI/VvXDjwIJldI/AAAAAAAACkM/tz7mtQAHhe87e7TS7anrUwMoeApCD8hJQ/s320/IMG_1385-001.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I have also been working on a pillow from a Craftsy class I have taken. It is Maureen Cracknell's Quick- Quilt-As-You-Go. It was fun to make and even more fun to stuff the pillow form in, especially with arthritic wrists!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yAxOh-nDgIA/VvXFqRSYdvI/AAAAAAAACkc/1gqa_Zh7p5w3gInICOjZW89ymk8pr-FWQ/s1600/IMG_1374.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yAxOh-nDgIA/VvXFqRSYdvI/AAAAAAAACkc/1gqa_Zh7p5w3gInICOjZW89ymk8pr-FWQ/s320/IMG_1374.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I am now working on a herringbone quilt from the same close which I will post about when I finally get it done. I have 2/3 of the top finished so am hoping the rest will go as quickly!Suehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04740722544710867368noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1503100639330136880.post-8476719572287579952016-03-05T13:43:00.002-05:002016-03-05T13:43:47.059-05:00Emily and her Fantastic Wardrobe!!!This week I have been busy making Emily and her wardrobe! She is another pattern from the creative mind of Wendi at <a href="http://shop.shinyhappyworld.com/collections/dolls-doll-clothes" target="_blank">Shiny, Happy World</a>. Believe me when I say Wendi's patterns are addictive!<br />
<br />
Here is Emily in her "sparkly" top and skirt! She will be able to wear this outfit for the 4th of July!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JDKqtwOfpE4/Vtsl0LFacxI/AAAAAAAACjI/PqmWwLkTqfA/s1600/IMG_1289-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JDKqtwOfpE4/Vtsl0LFacxI/AAAAAAAACjI/PqmWwLkTqfA/s320/IMG_1289-001.JPG" width="289" /></a></div>
I also made her a pair of shorts out of the same sparkly denim so she will have to make a decision of which one to wear!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MPnBz3HHl48/VtsmXYeApjI/AAAAAAAACjU/lqjtf68A4K4/s1600/IMG_1293-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MPnBz3HHl48/VtsmXYeApjI/AAAAAAAACjU/lqjtf68A4K4/s320/IMG_1293-001.JPG" width="234" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Next up is the same shorts but with a bright red top! She is a very patriotic girl you know!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8uS0nCYej_I/VtsmXWdAJxI/AAAAAAAACjQ/pk5jFp9PKjs/s1600/IMG_1294-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8uS0nCYej_I/VtsmXWdAJxI/AAAAAAAACjQ/pk5jFp9PKjs/s320/IMG_1294-001.JPG" width="228" /></a></div>
She might get a bit cold so she also has a pair of striped overalls that go with her red top.<br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XnkMhGzvUE4/VtsmXWZkiBI/AAAAAAAACjM/VA3W8bblmqQ/s1600/IMG_1297-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XnkMhGzvUE4/VtsmXWZkiBI/AAAAAAAACjM/VA3W8bblmqQ/s320/IMG_1297-001.JPG" width="183" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">She really isn't being choked...I used my granddaughters's doll stand so Emily could stand upright!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I guess she decided that the overalls were too warm so she put on another pair of denim shorts, this time a bit lighter in color. She added a new shirt, too. This one is blue and green specks with shiny green snaps! What a stylish girl!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-apCRqaqVwJA/VtsmYIclfQI/AAAAAAAACjs/NGGbujO7wfU/s1600/IMG_1309-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-apCRqaqVwJA/VtsmYIclfQI/AAAAAAAACjs/NGGbujO7wfU/s320/IMG_1309-001.JPG" width="211" /></a></div>
Well, the day finally came to an end and Emily put on her flannel jammies and got her little doll out so they could go to bed. It's been a long, hard day! Yawn!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0qMupOu4VxM/VtsmYVb841I/AAAAAAAACjs/VFqpXOobbYQ/s1600/IMG_1316-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0qMupOu4VxM/VtsmYVb841I/AAAAAAAACjs/VFqpXOobbYQ/s320/IMG_1316-001.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I am going to make another doll and lots more clothes for my granddaughter and her friends...cross your fingers I get most of it done by next week when I get to see her!Suehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04740722544710867368noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1503100639330136880.post-56543188526746902692016-02-27T14:51:00.001-05:002016-02-27T14:51:09.646-05:00Elephants, Bears and Paperdolls! Oh, My!!!!This week I made my first stuffed softies from <a href="http://shop.shinyhappyworld.com/collections/stuffed-animals" target="_blank">Wendi's</a> fun patterns. I finished my elephant and teddy bear and have a cat and dog to go!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sVp-KR6Xnqs/VtH73TRbP9I/AAAAAAAACig/v7H4Q9Qfw0w/s1600/IMG_1267-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="178" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sVp-KR6Xnqs/VtH73TRbP9I/AAAAAAAACig/v7H4Q9Qfw0w/s320/IMG_1267-001.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I love my elephant and have a pink one planned (doesn't everyone need a pink elephant?)<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8IwA9DaAsio/VtH73WVGBvI/AAAAAAAACio/9Y_wWpnxyhI/s1600/IMG_1268-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="260" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8IwA9DaAsio/VtH73WVGBvI/AAAAAAAACio/9Y_wWpnxyhI/s320/IMG_1268-001.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">I love his big floppy ears!</td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Of course, I have many more teddies planned of all colors. I used pleather for his nose and faux suede for his face, "hands" and feet!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-l0Sal42SB2I/VtH73sl-OJI/AAAAAAAACis/qsWeb0z3xZs/s1600/IMG_1273-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="294" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-l0Sal42SB2I/VtH73sl-OJI/AAAAAAAACis/qsWeb0z3xZs/s320/IMG_1273-001.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">He seems right at home sitting in my chair!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<br />
Here are a few more paperdoll blocks. This week I made ones with my kids and grandkids! Oh course, I had to use my memory for what my kids wore all those years ago! Thank goodness the grandkids are recent so I didn't have to use too many brain cells for those!<br />
<br />
First up is my oldest son and one of my favorite outfits he ever had! His grandmother gave him these quilted overalls when he was really little so I had to put a huge hem in them! He wore them until I couldn't let them out anymore and then they were passed down to his brother.( I did take poetic license with them because the original quilted knees and pocket were yellow calico.)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/--zRv9fc11aE/VtH4PwWKVzI/AAAAAAAAChw/N_1uCvNo0ps/s1600/IMG_1260-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/--zRv9fc11aE/VtH4PwWKVzI/AAAAAAAAChw/N_1uCvNo0ps/s320/IMG_1260-001.JPG" width="213" /></a></div>
I then moved on to my younger son. He played soccer from 1st grade until he graduated so what is more apropos than his soccer uniform. The cleats were lots of fun to add!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-s-_VuzqU8os/VtH4iaRYihI/AAAAAAAACh0/GIUiFMVH5kw/s1600/IMG_1257-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-s-_VuzqU8os/VtH4iaRYihI/AAAAAAAACh0/GIUiFMVH5kw/s320/IMG_1257-001.JPG" width="232" /></a></div>
Then I made one of my granddaughter and the outfit we shopped for on her last birthday. She picked out the whole outfit and was especially proud of her Sketcher shoes with memory foam. She had wanted them for so long and then found them to match the outfit she had chosen!!!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/--4hdKja60mg/VtH5hv1RqDI/AAAAAAAACiA/Igbuzha0OK0/s1600/IMG_1264-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/--4hdKja60mg/VtH5hv1RqDI/AAAAAAAACiA/Igbuzha0OK0/s320/IMG_1264-001.JPG" width="211" /></a></div>
Last but not least is my grandson and his swim suit! When they come to visit, swimwear is all you see them in! They love the beach. I had fun putting the whale appliques on both his swimsuit and protective shirt. Fun, fun!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mRt-WMK7U5Y/VtH6CnsqNcI/AAAAAAAACiI/uyvG18DO4no/s1600/IMG_1253-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mRt-WMK7U5Y/VtH6CnsqNcI/AAAAAAAACiI/uyvG18DO4no/s320/IMG_1253-001.JPG" width="203" /></a></div>
One other block I finished was "Lily" my Easter girl! It was based on a dress that my grandmother made me when I was 8 or 9. The dress was yellow dotted swiss (remember that?) and I had black patent leather shoes. I loved that dress! I added an Easter basket filled with flowers.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
I have at least two more softies to make...a cat and a dog and of course I am still working on my paperdoll and house blocks. <br />
<br />
<br />

I'm still making my Shiny Happy House blocks but I now am doing a Paperdoll quilt also. The pattern comes from the clever mind of <a href="http://shop.shinyhappyworld.com/collections/quilt-patterns/products/paper-dolls-quilt-pattern" target="_blank">Wendi Gratz</a> and let me tell you that once you start, you won't be able to stop. Wendi's pattern are only a guide because you can make them your own with tiny little touches that make each block yours!<br />
<br />
My very first block is one I named Heidi. Why Heidi, who know? It just seemed to fit! She is all dressed up for her first day of school in her cute little denim jumper with a co-ordinating plaid shirt and blue tights. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gpqdjTvA_IA/VsOZIgcJJrI/AAAAAAAAChA/x_D2Z51hS8c/s1600/IMG_1222-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gpqdjTvA_IA/VsOZIgcJJrI/AAAAAAAAChA/x_D2Z51hS8c/s320/IMG_1222-001.JPG" width="213" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I them designed Artie. He has on a long sleeved red shirt and bright blue pants.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pTyBV0LtMdM/VsOZKxnWQ9I/AAAAAAAAChM/DczJ9dielhc/s1600/IMG_1224-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pTyBV0LtMdM/VsOZKxnWQ9I/AAAAAAAAChM/DczJ9dielhc/s320/IMG_1224-001.JPG" width="209" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Then came Violet! This is the first block that I added a bit of me into the block. Since I was naming all the dolls, someone asked me why not add their name to the block, so I did! I also added a bow to her hair and a bit of lace to the hem of her dress.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-C3mM9qKI8BQ/VsOZNNHmeII/AAAAAAAAChQ/ojpeeMC0Xug/s1600/IMG_1236-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-C3mM9qKI8BQ/VsOZNNHmeII/AAAAAAAAChQ/ojpeeMC0Xug/s320/IMG_1236-001.JPG" width="208" /></a></div>
I now have plans for a lot more dolls! I am going to make ones for the holidays, and ones named for friends and family. I am having a blast doing them and I hope you have fun seeing them. Keep an eye peeled for more blocks soon!!<br /><br />

This has turned into an addiction for me! I keep thinking of new styles of houses to make so I just keep making them! The houses started out fairly simple but as I have continued making them, I keep adding more and more details.<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WNxdhyzbGe8/Vr5sJ0DAsQI/AAAAAAAACgM/2Ob2P_FTAf4/s1600/IMG_1177-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="319" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WNxdhyzbGe8/Vr5sJ0DAsQI/AAAAAAAACgM/2Ob2P_FTAf4/s320/IMG_1177-001.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Note the cute little kitty in front of the bush.</td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<br />
The first house of the week was the flowery house. I added a flower box filled with flowers. The roof and front section of it are also quite "flowery"<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cdWRvZRefZk/Vr5svq6U3aI/AAAAAAAACgQ/Tg1KzVfCp1I/s1600/IMG_1184-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cdWRvZRefZk/Vr5svq6U3aI/AAAAAAAACgQ/Tg1KzVfCp1I/s320/IMG_1184-001.JPG" width="316" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">For the rustic cabin, I added a doggie holding a bone</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I then decided that my quilt was going to need a log cabin. Let me tell you that the logs were really fun!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vQL23Yubhjs/Vr5tQN_vzqI/AAAAAAAACgc/y0kgRAqpdp8/s1600/IMG_1188-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vQL23Yubhjs/Vr5tQN_vzqI/AAAAAAAACgc/y0kgRAqpdp8/s320/IMG_1188-001.JPG" width="313" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">My roommate tells me that flying the kite with that tail is impossible....and I said so pretend!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Next I came up with a two story house with a matching doghouse and white picket fence. Of course, the block needed a kite and a puppy in the doghouse!<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cy4RF9g_VuY/Vr5tQOu3paI/AAAAAAAACgg/Of2jbvOkecg/s1600/IMG_1199-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cy4RF9g_VuY/Vr5tQOu3paI/AAAAAAAACgg/Of2jbvOkecg/s320/IMG_1199-001.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The beginnings of a forest...</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I decided that I really needed a snowy scene. The roof and the ground are both sewn with glittery white fabric. Since I live in Florida, I had to do the snow from memory!<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ORL8-xM4pyc/Vr5tQFar7kI/AAAAAAAACgs/CsLH87xCVxs/s1600/IMG_1206-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ORL8-xM4pyc/Vr5tQFar7kI/AAAAAAAACgs/CsLH87xCVxs/s320/IMG_1206-001.JPG" width="318" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Gold metallic thread makes the lighthouse beams of light</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I had fun designing the water and the lighthouse. There were lots of pieces to applique but it worked out in the end!<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/--54x7D_L3aQ/Vr5tQoMucYI/AAAAAAAACgs/RFrevOzKHEk/s1600/IMG_1217-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="318" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/--54x7D_L3aQ/Vr5tQoMucYI/AAAAAAAACgs/RFrevOzKHEk/s320/IMG_1217-001.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Finally a scene from around here</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
After all the snow scenes that I have done, I decided that a beach cottage was really needed! Palm trees with a hammock, surfboards on the beach just waiting to be used, and even a beach ball...now all we need is warm weather! I'm on the Gulf of Mexico and it has been in the 30's at night! Brrrrrrr........<br />
